Short Story of Extra

Introduction

We opened our doors in 2015 with no clue of how many experiences we will be able to host. When we started, our goal was to create a community restaurant and bar where people of all ages, nationalities, and identities can feel comfortable.

We were inspired by the world of ruin bars, but we wanted to do it in a quality atmosphere, with quality ingredients, recycling, architectural preservation and functionality. Our spaces have been designed with this in mind, hosting hundreds of private events, birthdays, gatherings of friends, romantic dinners. Over the years, we have evolved, developed and got better, so if you imagine spending an evening in a Ruin Bar, choose us.

And we don't even stop here, with our BRUNCH service you can now enjoy breakfast under our brick walls and famous red umbrellas.

Beautiful Interior

Food was way better than expected. Service was spot on. Atmosphere was a bit lacking but we came late on a Tuesday in November. Beautiful interior though with great food and good service.

Cozy Atmosphere

Great Ruin Bar

Great ruin bar, not the famous one (apparently), but this one was much less touristy and it seemed more authentic. Food was good, bar staff attentive and the atmosphere was great.

Food was great

I visited Extra with a group of friends and we loved it! The bar is really cool, the food was great, big portions, good price and the service also very good. I would definitely go again and recommend it if you visit Budapest.
